Film Of The Week 28/7/08
I don't usually put big blockbusters just released at the cinema as the film of the week, but this week I thought I'd make an exception this week as the movie is truly stunning. This week the film is The Dark Knight, starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger.
With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman has been making headway against local crime...until a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker (Heath Ledger) unleashes a fresh reign of chaos across Gotham City.
This film will have your eyes glued to the screen from start to finish with great explosions, great script and great acting, especially fro Heath Ledger who does an absolutely amazing job as The Joker and really stealing the show, he's even got some decent one liners. Most Batman films leave you wanting to be the Batman but this does the opposite and makes you want to be the villain.
If there was one film you should watch before you die, this is definitely it.

Fixed My Bike
I was riding my bicycle down to Harry's house yesterday, when the inner tube on my back tyre popped out. So I got off my bike and tried to put it back in place. But surprise surprise the inner tube was tube wasn't the right size for the wheel. And I was stranded with a broken bike in front of a pub with a bunch of people staring at me and my bike ; none of them offered helped me although I thought one man was coming to help but he just walked past. I had to call Harry and ask him to ride his bike down to help with my dilemma. When harry arrived, he bought some spanners so I could take the wheel off, and sin about 10 minutes my bike was fixed.

Film of The Week 21/7/08
This weeks film of the week is Better Off Dead, starring John Cusack and Curtis Armstrong.
Lane Meyer (Cusack) is obsessed with his girlfriend Beth and is crushed when she falls for the new captain of the ski team, Roy. After several failed suicide attempts, narrow escapes from the relentless paper boy, and nearly unbearable dinners at home with his crazy family, Lane finds a new love in French exchange student Monique Junot. Meanwhile, he must beat Roy on the slopes to regain his honor.
This film is a brilliant 80's teen comedy. It's basically a series of sketches joined together to create a movie. The plot doesn't really have a particular focus so it can get quite unpredictable, which I like because I hate it when you can guess what happens at the ending because you have seen so many films do the same. If you watch the film, what I just said slightly contradictory but it's how it gets to the ending which is different.
Not so much a must see but if you get the chance to watch it, watch it.

Decent Dark Knight Poster
Ok, so some of you may be thinking that I've taken the topic of Batman posters a bit too far, but I promise you this is the last one.
I was in the Spar and I saw that the August issue of Total Film magazine contained a free Batman poster. The poster isn't as big as a standard one but it is a decent size for a freebie. It's a double poster, on the back is Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
So if want a decent Batman poster and live in the UK, (not sure if the worldwide copies have the poster) buy the magazine 'cos you can't buy this poster in the shops. Heres what the poster looks like.

Spiderman Font
I was browsing the internet the other day and came across this website where you can download a font that is like the one used in the Spiderman movie titles and on the PS3. It’s so cool I’m even writing this post in it (but not the title because blogger Doesn’t
Anyway here’s the link http://www.dafont.com/spiderman.font
For those of you that don’t know how to install the font, download the file, unzip it then go to control panel then Fonts. Then just drag and drop your new font, easy.

Film of the Week 14/7/08
Last week I was ridiculously bored, so i rented the film "Sorority Boys" off cable. It sounded good and it was cheap, but I expected it to be another failed attempt of teen comedy. But to my surprise it wasn't, it was actually really good.
Three rowdy college students are kicked out of their dorm and dress up in drag to live in the DOG house, where the girls deemed unattractive live.
This film isn't as dirty as other teen movies, but there are some scenes that will make you say "eww". The story line is quite bad although it's not absolutely vital and just acts as a motive for the characters actions. It does get into the main plot near the beginning so there is no need to sit through pointless dialogue.
A decent, original teen comedy thats more than just about getting laid.
